Tom Daley combines her two great loves – diving and knitting – for a new awareness campaign.

Fresh off the success of Olympics in Paris and after receiving news of his retirement from the world of diving, the gold medalist joined forces with Malibu to bring attention to an important issue.

And she does it wearing, no more and no less than knit swimming trunks.

New pictures show Tom posing on Brighton beach in a swimsuit with the words “don’t drink or dive” written on it, while a huge “1 in 4” sand sculpture highlights Royal Life Saving Society UK statistics show that one in four drownings is alcohol related.

Tom said of his campaign: “I have always loved being in the water, but perhaps more than anyone else I understand its power and the need to respect it in order to stay safe.”

He added: “I am proud to be working with Malibu and the Royal Life Saving Society UK to get this message out. Be careful and ‘Don’t drink and dive!'”

Tom is currently celebrating another medal-winning performance at the Olympic Games earlier this month, where he won a silver medal and became one of the few athletes to have won bronze, silver and gold medals.

After returning from the UK, he gave an interview to BBC News in which he spoke tearfully about his retirement and his incredibly successful diving career.
